Candidate:
We're seeking a highly experienced Mechatronics Engineer to lead the design, development, and commissioning of complex mechatronic systems in the semiconductor industry. You'll work on translating performance requirements into subsystem concepts, designing and implementing solutions, and ensuring seamless integration with overall system architecture. This role involves on-site commissioning and troubleshooting at Sioux' customer locations or their end-customer sites, requiring frequent travel (25-50% of the time) to ensure smooth project execution and top-notch customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
Translate performance requirements into subsystem concepts and engineering requirements
Lead design, development, and commissioning of mechatronic systems
Make key design decisions on motion system design, sensing, actuation, control strategy, and system integration
Lead design trade-offs between performance, cost, manufacturability, and reliability
Review designs and plans
Support industrialization, validation, and release of systems
Collaborate with system architects, project managers, and lead engineers
Be on-call for commissioning and troubleshooting primarily in The Netherlands
Travel to end customers in SEA for commissioning and troubleshooting.
Being a key contact person for our customers’ end customers in case of needed support.
Education: MSc or PhD in Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, Control Engineering, or related field
Job requirements
Experience:
10-15 years of experience in mechatronic system design and development.
Deep knowledge of motion control, dynamics, sensing/actuation, and precision mechanics
Experience with multi-disciplinary projects and team leadership
Full proficiency in Beckhoff PLC
Strong communication and leadership skills
Fluent English, written and spoken

Experience with Beckhoff industrial automation and control systems
Good to have:
Experience with robotics and machine vision
Knowledge of Industry 4.0 and digital twin technologies
Familiarity with safety standards (e.g. ISO 13849, IEC 61508)
Experience with cloud-based data analytics and IoT platforms
Proficiency in CAD software (e.g. SolidWorks, CATIA)
System modelling and simulation (MATLAB, Simulink)
Proficiency in Python and /or C++
Familiarity with FEM and thermal analysis.
